TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Sadly due to circumstances beyond our control we have had to close for an undetermined amount of time. To re open, Marshland Happy Days needs to be covered by its own Ofsted & not the schools. The closure has not been taken lightly by myself, Marshland Primary School or Early Years http://www.doncasterchildrenandfamilies.info/ & we are all working together to get Marshland Happy Days re opened as soon as possible. We do not have a time scale at the moment so please arrange alternative child care in the meantime. I have another meeting on Monday at 2pm, so hopefully will have more information to give you after that. I appologise on letting you all know via our text service but this was the most efficiant way I could let everyone know at once. You all have my word that Marshland Happy Days will be back as soon as I can get this resolved, I will be working continually behind the scenes to get the doors opened again.
Thank you for your support well wishes so far, we appreciate this is a hard time for all concerned.
Kind Regards
Martin

Just to let you know that the meeting today with Early Years went well. We have their full support & they have given us the relevant forms we need to put our own Ofsted in place so as we can re open. We will get these forms sent off as soon as we have filled them in, then its just a waiting game. We hope this process will be fast & we can open up in 6 weeks but we have been warned that it could take considerably longer. Once we have sent the forms off I will be chasing them up daily in the hope that they can get our Ofsted in place as soon as possible.
Thank you all for your continued support, it's greatly appreciated.

A quick update to let you all know how things are going, I have spoken to Ofsted today & they will do everything in their powers to push our report through as fast as possible so that's good news. Marshland Primary School have asked for a list of their Breakfast Club users, I have expressed to Mrs Kimber your wishes of them re opening their Breakfast Club while we are closed so fingers crossed for you guys that are at Marshland that something can be put in place until then. Marshland are still fully behind us, as are all the other schools, the plan is still to get Marshland Happy Days its own Ofsted report to use on the grounds of Marshland Primary school. Everything will open up just as it was before apart from we will renting the room this time.
I have also had a meeting with West Rd, Mrs Dyson has kindly asked if there is any way the school can help the community. We discussed putting on a basic After School Club to support the community (ALL SCHOOLS) while we are waiting for our own Ofsted.
I have offered to set up the After School Club for West Road but I will will not run it for them as I need to put all my time in re opening Marshland Happy Days, the club will be run buy the school but as Sue (Deputy Manager of Marshland Happy Days) already works in West Road she will manage West Roads club until Marshland Happy Days opens.
If there is a proven need for this club I can get it up & running by next Monday, the details are sketchy at the moment but West Road have agreed (if there is enough interest) to open until 5pm (Mon to Fri) & can only provide a very light snack like sandwiches or crackers. The price will be around £4 per child but this may be lowered if they get enough children in to cover staff wages (this will not be run to make profit, the school only want to help).
Mrs Dyson has asked me to find out who would want to use this Club if it went ahead. PLEASE send me a text on the out of hour number 07837476216 if you are interested in using this emergency service as soon as possible. Please include the days & times you would need the club. Please note it is only a basic emergency service to help out those that really need the service.
Can I also use this opportunity to thank you for you support & understanding in this stressful time, we are working around the clock to get this service back in action. Please if you have not already posted in the HAVE YOUR SAY page (top right of this screen) then please do it now, the more posts we have of support on that page the better.
Kind Regards
MARTIN

Marshland Happy Days Kids Club provides fun care for children aged 3 to 13 years, in a safe, happy, stimulating & relaxed environment. While the club is managed by staff & Parent Directors, no decision will be made without input by the Children. Our aim is for a child led club which will give every child the chance to be involved in the day to day running of the club if he/she would like. Child involvement will include ordering of resources, toys & games, setting menu's, managing the petty cash, as well as maintaining the clubs allotment which will provide fresh fruit & vegetables to be used within the club & sold within the community to raise funds.
The Club has been set up as a Social Enterprise with the aim to provide affordable, quality childcare for the whole community therefore allowing parents access to training and employment with the peace of mind that their children will have the opportunity to play, have fun, socialise & learn vital life skills whilst attending the club. Children benefit from a motivational and healthy start to their school day, and for schools we aim to raise attendance and punctuality. We have strong links with the local children's services, other childcare providers and we support local community groups where possible, such as sponsoring the local under 10's football team and working with a children's fitness coach during our summer scheme.
Marshland Happy Days will ensure that all Children's individual needs are met regardless of Age, Stage or Ability by our staff, who are all qualified Playworkers and/or Early Years Professionals. We also have a bank of parent volunteers who all hold current CRB Enhanced Disclosures for our setting.
